The J-B (pronounced “J bar B”) Ranch is a working horse property on 30 acres located approximately 7 miles southwest of Decatur, Illinois.
The original barn dates back to the 1940s before Jene and B.B. Burns expanded it in 1962 to be a Quarter Horse and Cutting Horse training facility and Western Wear business, giving it the title of Back Breaker Acres. The barn remains a solid, functional structure built for real use rather than appearance. Over time, the property has aged, weathered and developed “character”, but has continued to serve as a practical horse facility with indoor riding space, secure boarding stalls and provides ample pasture access, with a strong emphasis on safety, responsibility, and cooperation.
Today, J-B Ranch is operated by Jeff Burns with his partner T.J. as a community-based, self-service boarding facility for those who value usable, functional space, stable routines, and a no-drama environment.
